Alice was born in 1981 on a farm in a village in Friesland. She was very ambitious already at a young age. She was very talented in the equestrian. She booked great success internationally, particularly in jumping. When she reached a peak in the equestrian at the age of eighteen, Alice decided to move to the big city where she would pursue her other ambitions. She wanted to go into theater. Unfortunately, this did not go so easy for this ambitious girl. She did a lot of auditions but did not immediately get into the theater training because she had no experience. Yet she did not give up and after a year working hard on her singing and dancing and having theater experience, she managed to get allowed in the high school of arts in Amsterdam. Besides her studies she sang in various bands and played in theater.

After completing her training, she worked for musical producer Joop van den Ende. She played parts in several musi- cals like Saturday Night Fever and Mamma Mia. To broaden her horizon, she auditioned with Joop Van Den Ende Productions in Belgium. There she was adopted in the Belgian production of Mamma Mia. So Alice came to live in Antwerp in order to immerse herself in her new musical project. As we know, Antwerp is the diamond city of the world and many people living in Antwerp are employed in this business. Alice soon learned to know people who worked in the diamond industry.

As Alice came in contact with the diamond business she was intrigued by this mysterious stone. She also began to wonder what to do after her career as a musical star? Because after your thirtieth it would be a lot harder to get good parts. She thought perhaps it was not unreasonable to get orientated in another business. Besides her work in the musical she took some courses to find out whether the diamond industry would be interesting to her. Soon she was fascinated by the world of diamonds and decided to get educated at the school for diamonds in Antwerp. During her study, she got a job in the diamond business and soon knew exactly what was going on in this business. She learned all about the diamond business. First as a valuer and then in sales. She went along to fairs in Hong Kong, Dubai, Istanbul and Vicenza so she quickly gained tremendous experience and saw how doing business differed from various cultures. Alice started her first business in Antwerp and soon she got customers from all over the world.

Yet her creativity began to bubble again. Only selling the diamonds seemed not to be enough for her. She decided to expand her field by attending a jewelry design course in Antwerp. There she learned to make jewelry sketches and then work them out in a 3D program to best visualize the design for the potential buyer. This enabled her to, not only sell diamonds to her clients, but also provide them with custom designed jewelry. A dream that Alice had was creating her own brand. Through her many travels and experiences with real craftsmanship Alice knew where she could make the finest jewellery. She wanted to establish a brand which is made by hand with the finest materials.

As of July 7, 2011 Alice Sunderland will be presenting her jewellery line with haute couture designer Christian Lagerwaard at the haute couture week in Paris. This show will be held on the Place Vendome in Paris.
